The purpose of this position is to coordinate and provide employment support services to people who have disabilities to obtain and maintain individual employment opportunities in the community. Primary functions  include job development, case management, job coaching and follow-up support.

Salary & Hours: $17.00 per hour; Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:00pm; Full-time; NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS!

Responsibilities:
  • Marketing and Job Development: Markets services to potential employers to assist people with disabilities  in obtaining and securing community-based independent employment.  Markets services to both external and internal referral sources to obtain referrals for placement and other related services.  Markets directly to potential clients. Assists people disabilities in securing community based independent employment.
  • Provides employment support services so that job retention and performance enhancement is assured. 
  • Develops an assessment and appraisal of the person’s performance in the program and progress on their identified goals. 
  • Facilitates meetings so that all Interdisciplinary team members are informed regarding the progress of the person, and gathers feedback and information to revise plans to optimize progress.
  • Assures program continuity by completing ongoing procedures and operations within Opportunity Partners.
  • Participates in training and development activities so that new ideas and/or concepts can be implemented into programs.   
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY BE ADDED, DELETED, OR CHANGED AT ANY TIME
AT THE DISCRETION OF MANAGEMENT.
 
Essential Requirements:
Designated Coordinator status is required, and must be met through one of the following:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in a field related to human services, and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older
  2. An Associate’s degree in a field related to human services, and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older
  3. A diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited post-secondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or
  4. a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities AND
  5. 4 years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses (1) to (3).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of disability populations including brain injury, developmental disabilities and mental illnesses
  • Communication skills, both written and oral
  • Teaching skills
  • Organizational planning abilities
  • Knowledge of behavior theories
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of social service and vocational rehabilitation systems
  • Knowledge of community resources                              
  • Self-directed
  • Ability to develop ideas and innovative approaches
  • Ability to operate a computer (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional rapport with a variety of people
